This is F1Minute - Staff changes underway at HRT after takeover.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the Carabante family had sold a majority share of Hispania Racing to investment firm Thesan Capital. Now the new owners are undergoing a reshuffle of staff, with Head of Communications Alba Saiz being let go.
Reports suggest the bosses are sticking to their goal of trying to make the team more Spanish, whilst also shedding those that were loyal to the Carabantes. Former colleague Tabatha Valls, now at Virgin Racing, commented that HRT are simply losing professional employees, and it’s hard to watch from a team she was with from the start.
The speculation is not all over outgoing staff, however, with rumours that Spanish touring car driver Javier Villa could come in to replace Tonio Liuzzi. Villa has said it won’t be in Germany, but that leaves the rest of the season up for grabs. HRT have already made one driver change with Narain Karthikeyan out and Daniel Ricciardo in, another change would seea them maxing out their four race driver allowance for the second year in a row.
