This is F1Minute - Sergio Pérez tests for Ferrari at Fiorano.
Sergio Pérez came into Formula One through the Ferrari Driver Academy, and has now had his first taste of the Scuderia’s machinery after being invited to test at Fiorano yesterday. Pérez was given two days access to the Ferrari simulator at their factory in Maranello in preparation for 46 laps of the track.
Afterwards, the Mexican thanked the team for giving him the opportunity and added: “I think there is room for me to do well where I am and that’s my current target. It’s impossible to say how things will go. My dream is to become world champion and it would be nice if it could happen with a team like this one.”
Meanwhile, in more testing news, Force India were in action at Kemble Airfield in the UK, with GP2 driver Max Chilton in an F1 car for the first time. He couldn’t complete the full programme due to some issues with the exhaust but the team said they were happy with the data they collected.
And, finally, Romain Grosjean was called up for Renault duty in Valencia, testing out the 2009 car for two days at the Spanish circuit. This can only add to Renault’s driver lineup speculation.
