This is F1Minute - Sergio Pérez feels ready for European Grand Prix.
Sergio Pérez made a quick exit from the Canadian GP weekend, after telling his Sauber bosses that he wasn’t feeling well following the 90 minute first free practice session. Still recovering from his Monaco incident, Pérez sat out the race with Pedro de la Rosa taking his seat. Now, Sergio says he is feeling much better and looking forward to getting back in the car next week. He said: “I flew home from Montreal, and back in Mexico I spent the time preparing myself for the next race and trained together with our physiotherapist. I feel perfectly well and I’m very much looking forward to racing in Valencia.”
Meanwhile, team boss Peter Sauber explained why they borrowed de la Rosa from McLaren rather than using their own test driver Esteban Gutiérrez, saying: “We are responsible for him, and have had a contract with him for a couple of years. It is very important to bring him slowly into F1... It is important that he can concentrate on GP2, which is not easy, and to make progress there.”
