Welcome to F1Minute - Sebastian Vettel snatches victory from Hamilton in Singapore.
Lewis Hamilton led from pole position in Singapore, with Sebastian Vettel able to move up to second place off the line. Unfortunately, the comfortable lead only lasted for 23 laps, as Hamilton pulled to a halt out on track with a gearbox failure. Vettel moved up in to first place and managed to remain there until the end.
Behind him, there was action galore. Narain Karthikeyan bashed into the wall under the grandstands which brought out the safety car. Whilst slowly circling, Pastor Maldonado was called into the pitlane to retire due to a hydraulic problem. Later, Michael Schumacher was caught out by an early braking Jean-Éric Vergne, smashing into the back of the Toro Rosso - putting both cars out of the race and bringing out another safety car!
Vettel won the race, with Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso behind him. Meanwhile, Mark Webber could only manage to cross the line tenth, and he was later given a 20 second penalty that dropped him out of the points, for overtaking with all four wheels off the circuit.
