Red Bull have announced an extension to the contract of triple world champion Sebastian Vettel, who was previously set to remain with them until the end of 2014, but will now be wearing Red Bull colours until the end of 2015 instead. The pair have had a very successful relationship so far, since Sebastian Vettel made the move up from Toro Rosso in 2009.
Team Principal Christian Horner is sure that Vettel, despite his success so far, is still hungry for more. He says: “He is a very focused and determined young man, and has achieved a huge amount in his career. But the impressive thing about him is how much desire he has to continue to improve himself. He obviously wants to achieve as much as he can.”
The Red Bull team won the Canadian Grand Prix this past weekend, the first time they have managed to achieve victory in Montreal, and Vettel put a slightly different spin on things saying afterwards: “I think we’ve had strong results in the past and I wasn’t ashamed coming here having not won this race, so I wasn’t desperate when I got up this morning thinking ‘I have to win, I have to win.’
