This is F1Minute - Sebastian Vettel secures pole position for Italian Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel took his tenth pole position of the season at Monza today, making that 13 for Red Bull as a team - every single race so far this year.

Qualifying was warm and sunny, and began with a battle over who would be the name dropped out of qualifying along with Lotus, HRT and Virgin. Notably, Jarno Trulli outqualifed Heikki Kovalainen for Lotus - he’s still very happy with his new power steering. Pastor Maldonado suffered a spin and a crash into the barriers, he had to pit for a new nose but still made it through to Q2. It was Jaime Alguersuari who dropped out.

The second session was a close battle between the midfield runners, and at the very last minute it was Paul di Resta knocked off tenth down to eleventh by Bruno Senna - the difference between the two just six thousandths of a second.

The top ten shoot out was over before it began really. Bruno Senna opted not to run and Mark Webber left it late for just one lap. Vettel took pole, the McLaren drivers could not find the speed to beat him and settled for 2nd and 3rd. Alonso was fourth with Webber fifth.
