Welcome to F1Minute - Sebastian Vettel dominates free practice in India.
Red Bull look set to have the advantage at the Buddh International Circuit this weekend, and Sebastian Vettel got off to a great start by posting the fastest time of first practice. McLaren were close behind though, with both teams trading P1 times throughout the session.
Meanwhile, Sauber fielded Esteban Gutiérrez after Sergio Pérez fell ill with a cold, and Caterham had Giedo van der Garde in Kovalainen's car. It was Vettel fastest, with Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso behind.
The second session also went Red Bull’s way, with Vettel securing the top spot for afternoon practice as well. Both Felipe Massa and Romain Grosjean spun their respective cars after running off track and onto the astroturf. For Felipe, it meant a ruined set of tyres and some curtailed running.
Pérez was apparently feeling better in the afternoon, so he climbed back in the Sauber, finishing the day 12th overall. Vettel was fastest with teammate Mark Webber behind, and Fernando Alonso third once again.
