It’s been one of those particularly poorly kept secrets, but Romain Grosjean will be staying with the Lotus F1 Team for next season, lining up alongside Pastor Maldonado who has already been confirmed with the squad. Grosjean had let slip via several social networks across the last week, quickly deleting each message as it appeared. The news is finally out though, and Grosjean is happy with the decision to stick with Lotus, despite frustrations this year.
He says: “It’s no secret that we’ve had a really tough season this year but the team has remained focused and we’re all determined to return to regular points-scoring in 2015… I’m not saying we will be back at our 2013 levels when we were extraordinarily good for the size of the budget that we had. Personally, I’m hoping we can challenge the front runners, score a few podiums and points and get back into the top five in the championship.”
The Lotus team have had a tough season, with just three points scoring finishes between their two drivers. They’re currently eighth in the championship with just ten points.
