This is F1Minute - Romain Grosjean confirmed at Lotus for 2013 season.

Fresh from victory at the Race of Champions, Romain Grosjean had more good news to celebrate as the Lotus team confirmed his re-signing for the 2013 season. The French driver had a topsy-turvy 2012 season that saw him sit out one race with a ban, but also finish on the podium an unexpected three times.

Lotus confirmed a new contract with Kimi Räikkönen before this season had come to an end, but were holding off on their confirmation of the second driver. There didn’t appear to be many other names in the frame, however, and it is Grosjean that gets the continued opportunity.

He says: “I learnt a lot in my first full season in F1 and my aim is to put these lessons into practice with stronger and more consistent performances on track next year.”

And team principal Éric Boullier added: “Both drivers worked very well together in their first year as team-mates, and I think there is the potential of even better things from the season ahead.”
