Welcome to F1Minute - Renault confirm Robert Kubica successfully through his last operation.
Renault have confirmed today that Robert Kubica has successfully completed his final operation - to regain full mobility in his right elbow. The doctors were concerned that the lack of movement in his elbow was hampering his progress, but this final operation has successfully fixed the problem. The surgeons confirmed the operation went smoothly without any complications.
From the press release: “On waking up, it was immediately clear Robert was in good spirits. Why? Well, as soon as he opened his eyes, he asked for the results of today’s race!”
Kubica’s rehabilitation will continue after he has a few days in hospital to recuperate from the operation.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed before the race weekend that Nick Heidfeld has launched legal action against Renault as he believes he has a valid contract against the team. The hearing should be in about three weeks time, and Heidfeld wants to be back in the car for the Singapore Grand Prix.
