The Red Bull team had their 2016 F1 launch today, or what seems to be passing for a launch this year, as they unveiled the new colours their two drivers will be racing in, and very little else. The paint scheme is a toned down version of last year, thanks to changes in sponsorship. Now that they’re running a Renault engine without advertising the fact, they have removed the purple Infiniti logos, replacing them with a bigger text Red Bull logo instead.
They’ve got a darker blue base colour, and it all looks to have a matt finish, which is nice but won’t be quite so shiny under the Singapore night lights. Meanwhile, both drivers Ricciardo and Kvyat were on hand to talk up the season, with Ricciardo saying: “Obviously for us as drivers we’re more concerned about how it performs on track but as long as it looks good that’s important as well.”
The RB12 itself will be revealed in Barcelona on Monday for testing, and Force India today confirmed that will be the first sighting of their new car as well.
