Hello, this is F1Minute and it’s the 8th October 2010.
Red Bull led the way in both Free Practice sessions in Suzuka today, getting their Japanese Grand Prix weekend off to the best possible start. Vettel led Webber both times, with Kubica coming in a very respectable third. Lewis Hamilton had a big crash halfway through FP1, and the mechanics were working for almost the entire FP2 as well - Hamilton got ten minutes of running at the end. You might say the worst possible start. The weather forecasts suggest pouring rain tomorrow, so qualifying is going to be fascinating.
Elsewhere, the 2011 grid is getting more and more confirmed by the day. We know Sauber are sorted, and the excellent Joe Saward reports that both Toro Rosso and Force India will be keeping their lineups unchanged next season. Bad news for Paul di Resta. It’s also looking likely that Mercedes are happy with their drivers, whilst Trulli has all but confirmed he’ll be alongside Kovalainen at Lotus again. Silly season is going to be a quiet one this year.
