This is F1Minute - Pre-season testing comes to a close with Lotus on top.
The final day of pre-season testing in Barcelona came to a close with Kimi Räikkönen ending it as he began - as the fastest driver out there. It was something of a topsy turvy day today, with Sebastian Vettel the slowest driver. Red Bull were compounded by troubles that kept them in the garage, and Vettel only managed to complete 23 laps.
Elsewhere, Mercedes feel confident they will have a good competitive car, Heikki Kovalainen believes Caterham can step up to the midfield, whilst Daniel Ricciardo thinks a closer battle in the middle of the field will be a good thing for Toro Rosso.
Unfortunately for HRT and Marussia, neither managed to test a new car, with HRT having to face that their new chassis wouldn’t be ready until Monday. Pedro de la Rosa admits they are going to have to make the most of a filming day to have a quick shakedown of the car.
All teams now get to go away, analyse their data, and prepare for the season opener in two weeks time.
