F1’s sole tyre supplier Pirelli have finished up their full season of tyre compound announcements with confirmation of the final three rounds. The USA will feature medium and soft tyres, just like the Russian race this weekend, and as many more before it - this is the most frequent selection of tyres this year, best for unknown tracks or ones with mixed demands.
For Brazil, the Italian company have chosen the hard and medium compounds, the two hardest options, because it’s a short, fast but furious lap with high energy and anti-clockwise demands.
Finally, the Abu Dhabi double points race will feature the soft and supersofts. Pirelli say: “Abu Dhabi is one of the smoothest tracks of the year, and well-known territory for Pirelli, with a lot of the company’s testing carried out there prior to its arrival in F1. The most suitable tyre choice is the yellow soft and red supersoft, which will put the accent on strategy.”
