It’s the 26th January 2011 and this is F1Minute.
Force India have confirmed their lineup for the upcoming season with Adrian Sutil joined by Paul di Resta, replacing the outgoing Tonio Liuzzi. The duo will be supported by ex-Williams driver Nico Hülkenberg, who takes on the reserve driver role. Paul di Resta has moved up from the test driver role in 2010, in which he participated in eight free practice sessions, and followed the team around the globe, as well as competing in the DTM series.
Team boss Vijay Mallya has explained the thinking behind the lineup, saying: “Adrian has matured into one of F1’s most consistent and highly-rated young drivers, while Paul is, I believe, a real star of the future. He has won in every category in his career and this base speed was in evidence when he got in the car on Fridays last year. With Nico, signing him was too good an opportunity to let by.”
Today’s announcement just leaves one seat open on the grid, and that’s alongside Karthikeyan at HRT.
