Welcome to F1Minute - NBC replace Speed TV as exclusive F1 broadcaster in the US.

Speed TV have been the F1 broadcaster in the US for 17 years, but Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed a brand new four year deal with NBC that begins next season. For 2013 and beyond, NBC will have exclusive rights to broadcast all the races, most appearing on their Sports Network and some highlighted ones, such as the Canadian GP and the event in Austin, will be aired on the main NBC channel. All of them will also be live streamed through NBCSports.com as well.

Speaking of the new partnership, Bernie Ecclestone said: “I feel that they will promote Formula One to a level not seen before in the United States... Together, we will endeavour to broaden the scope of F1 coverage available to US viewers incorporating additional digital content that has not been available before.”

President of Programming at NBC, Jon Miller, added: “We are thrilled to add the top international open-wheel racing series to our already strong motorsports portfolio.
