Welcome to F1Minute - Michael Schumacher determined to race on in 2012.
The speculation over Michael Schumacher’s future refuses to settle, despite the fact the German multi-world champion has reiterated his plans to remain in Formula One many times. Despite a lacklustre season so far this year, and a similar story in 2010, Schumacher is confident of his future, saying: “Despite some funny rumours and stupid untruthful stories, I keep repeating myself that you will have to see me in 2012, whether you like it or don’t like it.”
He added that the team are behind his decision: “The good thing is that I have a lot of support from all around, in particular from the company, in particular from the team, that they all wish me to be there, so I wish to be there, so I look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, Mercedes boss Norbert Haug has been speaking to Autosport and admitted that the team just need more patience before they start seeing results. He said: “Compared to Red Bull, it took five years to build up that system and the first race was won by Sebastian Vettel in a Toro Rosso... We need to accept that it needs building up time.”
