Mercedes confirmed the launch date of their new 2013 car as the 4th February, the day before testing begins at Jerez. The car will be unveiled on location at the Spanish circuit, with drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg on hand to whip off the covers. Toro Rosso have picked the same day as Mercedes, 4th February, with the STR8 due to be launched also at Jerez.
Red Bull have revealed their launch date as the 3rd February, the day before Mercedes and Toro Rosso, with the car being unleashed on the public at the factory in Milton Keynes.
We also knew that the Ferrari team would be launching their 2013 car ahead of the testing in Jerez, but there was no exact date confirmed. We now know it will be the 1st February, with the car set to be revealed at Maranello.
So for those keeping track we have McLaren on the 31st January, Ferrari and Force India on the 1st Feb. Sauber are on the 2nd, Red Bull the 3rd and Mercedes and Toro Rosso both on the 4th. Then it’s straight into pre-season testing.
