Welcome to F1Minute - Marussia reveal the new MR01 at Silverstone.
The Marussia team finally took the covers off their new car today at Silverstone, after being unable to join the final test in Barcelona last week. The car was out on track in the British countryside as part of the team’s promotional activities, and as Team Principal John Booth said, that has it’s drawbacks:
“...while the drivers will be able to get a feel for the car, they won’t be able to draw any real conclusions until we start running in anger in Melbourne. Nevertheless, this is an important day for us and we’ll enjoy every minute on track with the new car.”
Notably, the MR01 does not feature the stepped nose that the rest of the field does, making Marussia and McLaren the only teams to opt for a smoother nose.
The new HRT car was pictured today in Barcelona, as the team make the most of a filming day, and that one does feature the stepped nose along with a new red, white and gold livery.
