This is F1Minute - Marussia and Caterham look ahead to Silverstone upgrades.
The Marussia team are looking to move on from the European Grand Prix, with confirmation that Timo Glock will be fit to rejoin them and race at Silverstone, plus the introduction of their first major car upgrade since the season began.
In their preview press quotes, Team Principal John Booth said: “We have a fairly significant upgrade for this race, comprising a new rear wing, exhausts, floor and sidepods. I would have to describe this as our first proper wind-tunnel generated upgrade of the season.”
Meanwhile, Caterham are also looking forward to an upgrade or two for the British Grand Prix, with Vitaly Petrov eyeing up Toro Rosso as their main rivals now. He said: “As we’ll be bringing more new parts, I think it’s another race where we’ll be able to take a step forwards. I’m sure everyone else will be bringing upgrades so we need to make sure that we don’t just make gains, but we improve more than our nearest rivals.”
Technical Director Mark Smith explains the new upgrades will include rear and other bodywork plus a revised exhaust layout.
