Welcome to F1Minute where Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso lead Free Practice in Valencia
Mark Webber led the first practice session in Valencia this weekend, gearing up for the European Grand Prix. Teammate Sebastian Vettel was much further down the order, finishing the morning 16th - with reports that Red Bull were investigating how the upcoming regulation changes might affect them.
Karun Chandhok was in Jarno Trulli’s Lotus car, but not for long, as he completed just two laps without setting a time due to a gearbox problem. Nico Hülkenberg was also having trouble, as he crashed Paul di Resta’s Force India car.
The mechanics had to rush to fix it up in time for Free Practice 2, but it was only finished in time for di Resta to have limited running. He completed just seven laps in the afternoon session.
Fernando Alonso was fastest at the end of the second session, with Lewis Hamilton second, and an improved Vettel in third. When all running was complete, Vettel was quick to say that he is not afraid of the engine m apping rule tweak, and Webber confirmed: “For us, not much has changed.”
