Welcome to F1Minute - Lewis Hamilton leads Free Practice 1 and 2 in Sepang.

McLaren led the way for both practice sessions in Malaysia today, with Lewis Hamilton topping the times in FP1 and 2. The first session got off to a relatively slow start, but the threat of rain forced teams out on track to start getting some running in. Hamilton finished half a second faster than next place Sebastian Vettel, whilst Australian GP winner Jenson Button was back in ninth, after his car suffered an oil leak. Notably, Romain Grosjean kept the pace up for Lotus in fifth, whilst HRT finished their morning more than seven seconds off the pace.

For FP2, there was none of the rain anticipated, so drivers got back to work. This time Hamilton was followed by Michael Schumacher - who he spent much of the afternoon trading times with. Button was up to third, whilst Vettel dropped down to tenth. Paul di Resta finished 13th after running off track twice, partly driver error, and partly car problems. In HRT-watch, they improved a little to finish five seconds off the pace as the afternoon drew to a close.
