Welcome to F1Minute - Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa lead practice in India.
Free Practice 1 in India gave our drivers their first glimpse of the new track, and it was a chaotic first 90 minutes. Moments after going green, the session had to be red-flagged because a dog was running loose on the circuit. With all animals controlled the session got underway again.
Sebastian Vettel slid his way across quite a lot of grass but managed to control it, unlike Jaime Alguersuari who crashed off into the barriers. He was unharmed but out of the session, as was Fernando Alonso after an engine problem forced him to stop out on track. Pastor Maldonado’s Williams also ground to halt with engine issues right at the end of the session, causing yellow flags. Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap, with Vettel and Webber behind him.
Free Practice 2 had a lot of incidents, but they were smaller wobbles. There was just one red flag caused by Jérôme D’Ambrosio, who went into the barriers backwards. Felipe Massa was fastest, with Vettel and Alonso behind.
