Hispania Racing did today confirm Narain Karthikeyan as one half of their driver lineup this year, following his slightly premature tweeting yesterday. The team did not give us any clue who will join Narain in the HRT garage, but whoever it is will probably bring some money with them. Karthikeyan brought sponsorship in the form of the Tata Group.
Team principal Colin Kolles has been talking about the 2011 car, revealing that it will not be ready for some of the earlier pre-season tests, but they hope it will appear for the final one before Bahrain. Kolles is also pretty confident the car can take shape too, saying: “We obviously have a Williams rear end - with the hydraulics and the Cosworth engine. The package was able to qualify in the top 10 last year, so it cannot be that bad. That is not going to be our weak point.” I mean, technically, the car qualified on pole at one race, but I wouldn’t expect to see HRT up there just yet.
