Welcome to F1Minute - Kobayashi and Vergne face British GP grid penalties.

The European Grand Prix was an incident-filled afternoon of fascinating racing, and it was littered with penalties handed out both during the race and afterwards.

Jean-Éric Vergne has come out with the worst penalty, after a serious collision with Heikki Kovalainen. He’s been given a ten place grid drop for Silverstone, along with a 25,000 Euro fine.

Kamui Kobayashi had two significant incidents - one with Bruno Senna, for which the Williams was given a mid-race drive-through penatly, and one with Felipe Massa. For that, Kobayashi has been given a five place grid drop for the British Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, Pastor Maldonado was given a post-race drive-through penalty for his avoidable incident with Lewis Hamilton. He had finished the race 10th but with 20 seconds added to his time, he dropped to 12th, giving the final points position to the aforementioned Senna.

Finally, whilst we’re talking about penalties and in the interests of completeness, Narain Karthikeyan had a drive through penalty for speeding in the pit lane, and Sauber were fined for a slow lap at the end of Q2.
