Welcome to F1Minute - Kobayashi and Pic lead wet practice day in Belgium.

The rain came tumbling down as the Belgian Grand Prix weekend got underway with first practice this morning at Spa. All 24 drivers hit the track, although Felipe Massa didn't set a time, completing just two installation laps. The Ferrari pulled to a stop out on track with engine trouble, halting the Brazilian's running.

Kamui Kobayashi posted the fastest time, completing the lap in 2:11, whilst behind him were Pastor Maldonado and Daniel Ricciardo.

If FP1 was considered damp, then the afternoon session was flooded out, with only ten drivers setting times and six opting not to leave the garage at all. Both Lotus and HRT drivers, Mark Webber and Vitaly Petrov preferred the safety of the pitlane, leaving the top ten to form with lap times ranging from 2:49 to 3:12.

Charles Pic led the way with Daniel Ricciardo and Fernando Alonso behind. Overall, Nico Hülkenberg completed the most laps of the afternoon - a whopping five.
