Hello and welcome, today is the 6th January 2010 and this is F1Minute.
It’s always fun when things get announced via an innocent little tweet, and today was a fabulous example of that. Former F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan took to Twitter to confirm: “Back in F1 in 2011. Signed a deal to race for HRT. I’ve always maintained that my time in F1 was not over and now making good on that promise.” Hispania themselves have not made any comment, although Autosport reports they’ll be announcing something driver-related tomorrow. They’ll be so glad their thunder was stolen by the man himself.
Also announced today, Williams will take to the streets of Venezuela, with Pastor Maldonado returning to his homeland to show off the FW32. He’ll demo the car near Caracas, in a show that President Chavez is expected to attend. No pressure then. Pastor says: “To be given the opportunity of driving a Formula One car in front of my fellow countrymen is going to be something very special. We will definitely put on a good show for everyone who attends.”
