Welcome to F1Minute, it’s the 22nd September 2010.
Earlier this week, Virgin Racing confirmed that they will be borrowing Renault’s reserve driver Jérôme D’Ambrosio for Friday practice for the rest of the season. The Belgian will take Lucas di Grassi’s car on Fridays as part of an evaluation with the team. Also, in Friday driver news, Paul di Resta won’t be in the Force India hot seat this weekend as the team want the regular drivers to have more time in the car. Di Resta will be in Singapore but explains: “It’s such a crucial race for the team, with so much to play for in the championship and a few new parts on the car.”
It will take the driver’s a couple of laps to get used to the track as the Singapore GP organisers have been tweaking Marina Bay. There has been some serious resurfacing happening at the more bumpy sections, whilst the pitlane has been lowered and Turn 10 has been reprofiled to be less of an angle.
And quickly to finish, Renault have signed a partner deal with Vyborg Shipyard, and the Russian company’s logos will be on the car for the rest of the season.
