This is F1Minute - HRT owners Thesan Capital reveal team up for sale.
The current owners of the HRT team, investment group Thesan Capital, have issued a statement confirming that the outfit is up for sale, and that they are talking to a number of interested parties.
It adds: “The current management hopes to conclude the sale in the upcoming weeks, and with it, enable the team to continue progressing and become a reference in modern day F1, after the important achievements already accomplished.” The new owner will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Thesan Capital took over the team in July of 2011, gradually easing out then team principal Colin Kolles. A statement from them at the time said: “The Spanish investment group will lead the development of Hispania Racing in the upcoming years... alongside progressively making the team more Spanish and definitively setting the team in Spain.”
Now, things are different, with the owners saying: “We’re very proud of the work done by the entire team... but the time has come for it to continue growing with new financial backing.”
