Hello and welcome to F1Minute - HRT missing from official 2013 entry list.
The FIA released the entry list for the 2013 season this weekend, with surprisingly few names actually on it. The most notable absentee, however, is HRT, who are not listed on the document at all. The team had been put up for sale in early November, but did not manage to find a buyer by the FIA deadline for payment for next season’s entries.
Autosport reports the team is working on paying those it owes money to before shutting down completely.
Technical Director of HRT, Toni Cuquerella hinted at this too, with a tweet saying: “Four years ago, I suggested to a friend to make an F1 team. Today, after three seasons, he has written the last page of HRT. Good luck friends.”
Meanwhile, back on the entry list, neither Sauber nor Force India have a driver listed, with their spots taken up by a “to be announced” note, but this is likely due to ongoing discussions over who should have which car number. The remaining spare seats are at Lotus, Force India, Caterham and Marussia.
