Welcome to F1Minute - Hamilton wins in Abu Dhabi, as Vettel spins out.
Sebastian Vettel led the way off the Abu Dhabi grid today, but he only managed to get two corners in before a spontaneous failure of the right rear tyre spun him off to the back of the pack. He made it back to the pits but the damage was too great and he retired from the race.
Lewis Hamilton inherited the lead and put in a strong and faultless performance to take his third win of the season. He was joined on the podium by Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, and McLaren teammate Jenson Button - who was battling a car with faulty KERS.
Kamui Kobayashi finished tenth, moving Sauber one point ahead of Toro Rosso - the fight not helped by Sébastien Buemi’s suspension giving out. Jérôme D’Ambrosio and Daniel Ricciardo also joined the retirees due to mechanical issues.
Ahead of Kobayashi, Paul di Resta finished 9th, making a one stop strategy work as those around him stuck with two stops.
There was a lot of trouble with blue flags, as Bruno Senna, Jaime Alguersuari and Pastor Maldonado - twice! - were given penalties for not moving out the way.
