This is F1Minute - Hamilton and Schumacher lead practice in China.
It was a wet start to the weekend as Free Practice 1 saw only a few laps completed by each driver, with test programmes shortened for the morning as the conditions hampered running.
Despite the rain, it was a morning for third drivers to get a chance behind the wheel with Valtteri Bottas returning for Williams and Jules Bianchi in for Force India. Caterham also gave Giedo van der Garde a few laps as well. It was Lewis Hamilton who topped the times, whilst Lotus driver Kimi Räikkönen sat at the other end of the timesheets.
The wet morning session meant that everyone had their eyes towards the skies for the second - and the dry conditions forced a packed programme for most drivers during the afternoon. Lewis Hamilton remained near the top of the timesheets but was pipped to P1 by Michael Schumacher.
Timo Glock lost control of his car as the front wing fell clean off, and the Marussia ended up in the barriers. Meanwhile, Kimi Räikkönen improved from last in first practice, to thirteenth in the afternoon.
