This is F1Minute - Four different drivers top four days of Barcelona testing.
The first Barcelona test has been completed today with Kamui Kobayashi rounding off the week at the top of the timesheets. The Sauber team were running some qualifying simulation laps, admitting that Saturday was a weakness of theirs for the previous two seasons.
Kamui’s lap time today was the fastest of the entire week at Barcelona. He was followed by Pastor Maldonado for Williams, who had previously led the way on Thursday. Sebastian Vettel was the first driver to finish on top on Tuesday, with Nico Hülkenberg leading for Force India on Wednesday.
There were no major problems for teams, aside from that of Lotus who abandoned the test on the first day. Ferrari made improvements throughout the week and were very happy to pass the 100 lap mark in one day, with Felipe Massa finishing fifth today.
Afterwards, he said: “Yes, I am happy: not only because we finally did so much mileage without problems but above all because we managed to improve the car in a significant way.”
