Welcome to F1Minute - Formula One heads to the US for media day.
Several F1 teams took the opportunity of being on the right side of the Atlantic to head down to the US, fresh from the Canadian Grand Prix. Marussia, Caterham, Force India, Sauber and Red Bull all made appearances in the States, with Red Bull bringing their car along for the ride.
The teams settled in for some interview sessions with big media names such as the New York Times and Reuters, discussing their experiences of F1, and previewing how great the race in New Jersey will be. The new event is scheduled to join the calendar in 2013, alongside this year’s debut in Austin, Texas.
All eyes were on the proposed New Jersey circuit, with Sebastian Vettel taking to the streets in an Infiniti road car. BBC journalist Lee McKenzie summed it up as: “an amazing track, narrow, twisty and a fast street circuit.”
Vettel also took part in an outdoor press conference with the New York city skyline as a backdrop, and he’s scheduled to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman this very evening.
