Two more teams have confirmed when they will reveal their 2017 challengers, and it almost feels like each squad is waiting to see who else is launching, and then sneaking in the day before. We’ve had Ferrari on the 24th February, Mercedes then on the 23rd. Now Force India have announced we need to save the date of the 22nd, whilst Renault are keen to kick things off on the 21st.
Force India’s launch will be at Silverstone, naturally, as the track is just across the road from the factory. The statement from the team says: “Give in to excitement… with a new driver line-up, new regulations and a renewed hunger to build on our most successful season ever, it’s time to Feel the Force again!”
Meanwhile, Nico Hülkenberg has joined Renault for 2017 and has no doubt had a sneak peek at the upcoming car. He’s not so keen on the changes this year, though, saying: “I don’t know at the moment how those cars and tyres will behave. I hope that they allow a bit more free pushing and not as much management, but I’m not sure that will be the case.”
