Today is the 8th February 2011 and this is F1Minute.
Force India became the latest team to launch their new car today, with an online video unveiling the 2011 challenger. The online launch featured interviews with the three drivers, Adrian Sutil, Paul di Resta, and Nico Hülkenberg, who were all pretty positive about what the season holds in store.
CEO of Force India, Otmar Szafnauer was also on hand to confirm that the team are aiming for 5th in the championship in 2011 - that would be up from 7th in 2010, and 9th the year before. Earlier in the week, the team confirmed they had extended their deal with McLaren for gearbox supply and Mercedes for engines, with both partnerships lasting until the end of 2012.
Elsewhere today, HRT released some graphic images of their new livery. Whilst not quite a launch, the colour scheme has created a bit of a stir. Gone is the dull grey of last year, and instead the car is mostly white with red highlights. There are also spaces for new sponsors which currently read: “Your logo here” and “This could be you.” Seriously.
