Ferrari’s technical director Aldo Costa has stepped down from his position at the head of the team, in a bid to revitalise their championship campaign. Costa has been in the role since late 2007 but will be moved to a new position as the technical department faces some changes. The team confirmed:

“At the same time, the technical activity has been restructured in three areas: Director for the Chassis side is Pat Fry, Production is in the hands of Corrado Lanzone, while Engine and Electronics continues with Luca Marmorini. All three report directly to the Team Principal, Stefano Domenicali.”

After the Spanish Grand Prix, Domenicali spoke of the need to fix the car, saying: “There is no denying that being lapped hurts... We need to provide Fernando and Felipe with a car with which they can fight all the way to the end of a race and not just in the first part. On a track that favours cars that have a lot of aerodynamic downforce, ours are lacking in this area and that was glaringly obvious.”
