Two days of mid-season testing have been completed at Silverstone following the British Grand Prix. Williams continued their strong pace at the track with Felipe Massa topping the times on the first day. Stoffel Vandoorne had a chance behind the wheel of the McLaren, whilst Pedro de la Rosa was in at Ferrari and Will Stevens in the Caterham.
On the second day, Jules Bianchi topped the times after jumping into the Ferrari. The Frenchman is a Ferrari junior driver, loaned out to Marussia for the season, and took the opportunity to drive after Kimi Räikkönen sat out the test following his heavy crash during the weekend.
Lotus were also under scrutiny, running new prototype Pirelli tyres with 18 inch rims. The team finished the day tenth fastest, with Charles Pic behind the wheel. Giedo van der Garde was in the Sauber and brought testing to an abrupt halt 20 minutes early after crashing into the barrier.
