Welcome to F1Minute - Ferrari ready to switch focus to next year’s car.
The Ferrari team have taken advantage of the summer break to hold their annual Wrooom Summer event, and whilst there, plenty of information has been filtering back through their website.
The main news comes from team principal Stefano Domenicali, who admitted that at the start of next month, Ferrari will turn their focus to the 2012 car, as they’ve already defined all their updates for this season. With Alonso starting to pick up points, Domenicali has reiterated his belief that the Spaniard is the number one driver in F1 at the moment, which must make Massa feel very special.
For his part, Alonso has rated the championship out of ten so far, and given it a seven, whilst Domenicali went for a 6+.
Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo is still expecting great things from this year, even if the team are moving onwards. He says: “I can see the right spirit in the team after a very difficult start to the season... I expect we will pick up wins to add to the important and historically very significant victory achieved at Silverstone.”
