This is F1Minute - Ferrari confirm Felipe Massa’s contract extension to 2013.
After speculation and rumours over their second seat began yet again, Ferrari took to their website to confirm they have renewed their contract with Felipe Massa to the end of next season.
The statement from the team says very little, but boss Stefano Domenicali expands on their thoughts, saying: “He’s been part of our family for over a decade and has shown, especially in the latter part of the season, to be competitive at the highest levels, as we expect every driver to be behind the wheel of a Ferrari.” He added that they’ve always supported him, even during the tricky moments, and so they expect him to repay their trust.
For his part, Felipe is, of course, happy to have another year with the team. He says: “I’m delighted with this agreement. Ferrari is my sports family and I’ve always raced in F1 driving engines built at Maranello. Both the team and the fans can be assured that I’ll do all in my power to help the Scuderia to achieve the goals that arise every year.”
