Hello and welcome to F1Minute - Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber lead Germany Free Practice.
Two Free Practice sessions have been completed ahead of the German Grand Prix this weekend, and the rain held off for both of them. Fernando Alonso posted the fastest time for the first session, followed by the two Red Bull drivers, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel.
FP1 was busy with some drivers running their regular tyre compounds and others running a test tyre compound for Pirelli. Sébastien Buemi provided the only major incident of the morning, when he spun off into the gravel, narrowly avoiding barriers and damage to his car. He brought out the yellow flags which saw the session come to an abrupt end.
Buemi completed only three installation laps in FP2, without setting a time, whilst HRT driver Daniel Ricciardo had engine trouble in the afternoon. The Australian pulled to the side of the track with smoke pluming from the back of the car. Mark Webber led the way, with Alonso and Vettel behind him.
McLaren struggled throughout the day, finishing no higher than 5th in FP1 and 7th in FP2.
