McLaren boss Ron Dennis has confirmed the next step in the team reshuffle, with ex-Lotus team principal Éric Boullier joining the Woking team as Racing Director. It’s a new role, that will report to another new and as-yet-unfilled Chief Executive Officer position. That person will then in turn report to Ron Dennis. And there is still no mention of Martin Whitmarsh. Managing Director Jonathan Neale will act as CEO until a suitable person is found.
Speaking of the appointment, Dennis said: “My intention is that from now on everyone at McLaren Racing will understand their responsibilities and accountabilities, focusing on their specific areas of expertise, in keeping with those values, principles and mindset.” He also added that he feels when his restructuring is complete, the team will soon be on “the march back to full competitiveness, quickly and professionally.”
Meanwhile, Boullier added: “I’m both eager and determined to play an active part within a new operational structure, to bring about the changes that will deliver success.”
