Welcome to F1Minute - Drivers share their first impressions of Circuit of the Americas.
Formula One’s teams and drivers have made their way to the brand new Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, Texas, and have been touring the track, mostly on foot, to try and get a feel for the lap. The first impressions are very positive, although some believe it presents a daunting challenge.
During the press conference on Thursday, Lewis Hamilton said: “It’s quite difficult to learn initially but it looks fantastic to drive. I really started to enjoy it once I got used to it, which took perhaps a little bit longer than some of the other circuits.”
Meanwhile, Sergio Pérez added: “I’ve seen some video of the track and I walked the track, and it’s amazing. I think it will be very enjoyable for all the drivers.”
Many of the drivers took to Twitter to post pictures and thoughts of their track walks, with Kamui Kobayashi saying it was “pretty”, Vitaly Petrov branding it “cool” and Felipe Massa saying: “This track has more or less everything.”
