This is F1Minute - Charles Pic moves from Marussia to Caterham for 2013.
The Caterham team will welcome at least one new face for the coming season, as they have signed Charles Pic from Marussia on what is a multi-year contract. The French driver joins Caterham after just one year in Formula One, where he has clearly impressed those in charge.
New team principal at Caterham, Cyril Abiteboul says: “We are thrilled that Charles has decided to join us for his second season in F1 and beyond. We’re all looking forward to working with a young driver who has clearly shown in his first season in F1 that he has the pace, racecraft and demeanour to help us achieve our goals.”
Pic, of course, is very happy about the new role and says: “Caterham has everything in place to help it move into a position to fight with a number of teams ahead. I know how determined the team is to keep progressing and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping them move up the grid.”
The other Caterham seat remains unconfirmed at the moment, but Heikki Kovalainen has said his chances of racing in 2013 are not good.
