The Caterham team have boosted their driver lineup with the addition of two reserve drivers, American racer Alexander Rossi and Chinese youngster Ma Qing Hua. Rossi has driven for the Caterham outfit in previous Young Driver Testing and was given a test driver role last year. He drove in free practice at the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix, as well.
Ma Qing Hua also got some experience in four free practice sessions last year, driving for the HRT team. He became the first Chinese-born driver to participate in Formula One sessions.
Talking of the new signings, team principal Cyril Abiteboul said: “As Reserve Drivers, both Alexander and Ma will attend every race with us and will be driving in a number of FP1 sessions to continue their development. The program we have devised for Alexander and Ma will allow them to immerse themselves completely in the F1 environment throughout 2013, preparing them for the day when they take the next step up to the ultimate level.”
