This is F1Minute - Button and Schumacher lead Free Practice in Australia.
The first two sessions of 2012 have been and gone, with Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher making the most of the opportunities and leading FP1 and FP2 respectively.
Both sessions were very wet, with a damp track and rain on and off. There was limited running in the morning, with HRT suffering even more issues than expected. Pedro de la Rosa couldn’t participate in FP1, and found a hydraulic problem with the car during FP2 so that it was just an installation lap from him today.
Narain Karthikeyan also struggled in his HRT, stopping out on track, whilst Felipe Massa got stuck in the gravel.
In the second session there were plenty of spins as the drivers pushed the limit of the wet tyres. Michael Schumacher managed to damage his front wing but it wasn’t enough to stop the German from taking the top spot. All the cars bundled out in the last five or so minutes of the session, but it was Schumacher making headlines on Day 1.
