Hello and welcome to F1Minute - Bruno Senna confirmed at Renault for two races.

The speculation that Bruno Senna would be driving for Renault in place of Nick Heidfeld at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix has been confirmed as true. The team issued a brief statement to announce the swap, and said that more information would be forthcoming today.

There was no further press release from Renault, however, both drivers were in attendance at the Official FIA Press Conference held today at the Spa circuit. Vitaly Petrov accidentally confirmed that Senna would be with the team for two weekends, saying: “Congratulations to Bruno, I know you’ve signed for the next two races.”

The team had not mentioned anything more than the one race weekend, but Bruno added: “I cannot confirm if I am doing the rest of the year or not. The intention is I am going to do it, but it still cannot be confirmed.” Senna has participated in a couple of Free Practice sessions, but has not raced since his season at HRT came to a close in Abu Dhabi last year.

Nick Heidfeld has been quiet since the confirmation, and with further rumours that Romain Grosjean could be in the frame for a drive, after his GP2 duties have been completed, it looks as though Quick Nick may be out for the rest of the season.
