This is F1Minute for the 27th March.
Nico Rosberg headed up both Free Practice sessions today, as the action got underway in Melbourne. The first session naturally took a while to get going, with Buemi getting the miles in to become used to the cars. Once the rest of them got going, there were plenty of spins to keep on top of, Nakajima picked up a puncture, and Vettel suffered a problem with the hydraulics on the Red Bull that curtailed his running.
In FP2, Nico continued to lead the way, whilst Vettel once again ended the session early. He struggled a few times on Turn 4, finally culminating in a spin that saw him out of the cockpit and returning to the pitlane. Meanwhile, Hamilton spent most of his day at the bottom of the timesheets, finishing 16th and 18th respectively.
Of note, the teams running the questionable diffusers dominated, with only Ferrari and Red Bull able to make a dent in their times.
That’s it for today. As of this week, F1Minute returns to it’s daily schedule to keep up with all the goings on over a race weekend. Therefore, I will see you tomorrow.
