This is F1Minute and it’s the 25th September 2009.

Lewis Hamilton secured pole position ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix tomorrow, in what was ultimately a rather anti-climactic qualifying session. Things were getting interesting as we learnt that Barrichello would be taking a five place grid drop for a gearbox change, and neither Räikkönen nor Button could get into the top ten.

The battle was on, and Hamilton posted provisional pole, with Vettel on a flyer - looking set to beat it. Barrichello suddenly found himself in the wall with one wheel hanging off. The session was red flagged with just 26 seconds left to run, effectively ending qualifying.

Hamilton kept his pole position, with Vettel lining up on the grid second. Barrichello qualified fifth, which means he starts 10th.

Not only is he having a bad day today but Rubens has also admitted he has no firm plans for next year, and though he wants to stay in F1, he doesn’t know of any rumours about him.

That’s all for today, please join me tomorrow for another F1Minute.
