Welcome to F1Minute for the 24th September 2009.
Brawn GP showed good form in the first practice session of the weekend as Barrichello led Button in a 1-2 for the team. Romain Grosjean was fit to drive today, after leaving the track early yesterday feeling unwell. He probably wished he hadn’t bothered though, as during the session, he spun and crashed in exactly the same place as Piquet last year. Everyone, driver, fans, pit wall included, everyone was stunned. The session was red flagged while the car was recovered.
Moving on to FP2, it was Vettel leading the way ahead of Alonso. The other Red Bull car, though, had more troubles, with Webber smashing the front up into a wall, causing another red flag.
Also very quickly, we mentioned yesterday that Renault had lost one sponsor and late last night ING also confirmed they were cutting ties with the team immediately. The cars were running with very few stickers today.
That’s all for now, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
